Holidays always create the perfect opportunity to do fun, theme-related activities with your kids! From crafts to yummy recipes, you get to nurture their creative abilities and partake in moments you both can cherish for a lifetime. St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, and we found a few crafts and recipes we think would be fun for you and your little one(s) to try. Check them out below!
- Hand Print Four Leaf Clover
A new addition to your refrigerator door art collection, this St. Patrick’s Day craft is super simple and something the entire family can do! All you need is unlined paper, construction or regular printing paper, and green paint! Eco-Kids has a line of vegan, non-toxic paint that would be perfect for this activity, and can be found at your local Target.
- Free Coloring Page Printables
Even simpler than the previous activity and a lot less messy, this craft is perfect for those play dates leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. Let’s face it, when you’ve got a big group of toddlers, the simpler activity the better. These coloring pages are super cost-effective and can either be as intricate or as basic as you’d like. Just do a quick google search of “free shamrock printables,” or just anything St. Patrick’s Day related, and explore the endless possibilities!
- Shamrock Slime
A fun craft we discovered on asthebunnyhops.com through our good friend Pinterest, this craft will surely be a hit this St. Patrick’s Day! All you need is two small bowls, clear Elmer’s glue, borax, water, chunky green and gold glitter, and shamrock confetti! A lot of these items you can find at craft stores like Michael’s! - Mint Cookie Bark
Mint…Oreo…Cookies! Need we say more? I think we can all agree that no holiday celebration is truly complete without yummy food to celebrate. Take a look at these recipes we found on www.frugalmomeh.com and blog.candiquik.com for a yummy mint cookie bark treat. They’re both simple to make, they just call for slightly different ingredients. But be assured they both yield a delicious snack the entire family will enjoy!
- St. Patrick’s Day Popcorn
Another yummy St. Patrick’s Day treat the family will enjoy, have a taste of this sweet and salty goodness with a recipe we found on www.twosisterscrafting.com! Ingredients you’ll need include:
- 10 Cups of Popped Popcorn
- Salt
- 3 tbsp. Butter (Sweet Cream, Salted)
- 3 cups Mini Marshmallows
- Regular M&Ms – Green
- Pretzel M&M’s – Green
- M&M Mini’s – Green
- Lucky Charms Shamrock Marshmallows
