What Our Programs Offer
Curriculum at Vinehouse includes the child-initiated and teacher-directed activities and experiences offered to young children that support and enrich their development physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. Vinehouse uses the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies as a guide for planning the curriculum in each of its program rooms.
Kindertales
Teachers use Kindertales to keep parents updated about their little ones day such as their feeding, changing, and sleeping schedule and pictures of them playing and learning. Kindertales’ parent mobile app and website allow parents to see what’s happening in their child's day as it occurs anywhere at any time. They stay current with their child's progress and feel like they are part of their day.
Sign Language
Sign 2 Me American Sign Language (ASL) training is embedded into the Mother Goose curriculum in both Spanish and English. Children will learn at least 2 sign languages per month. Therefore within 12 months, your child will have learned a minimum of 24 signs. Sign language is a powerful tool can help you understand and meet the needs of infants and toddlers long before they can speak.
Music Therapy
Music therapy is the incorporation of music, whether through a trained therapist or technology, for the benefit of patients. It has historically been used to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation. Music has proven therapeutic effectiveness in psychiatry, obstetrics, and pediatrics, promoting well-being, controlling pain, and neutralizing negative emotions.
Music therapy will be embedded into the Mother Goose Time Curriculum. We will play music daily and children will have a chance to participate with music instruments such as maracas, drums, shakers, sticks, scarves, bells, and etc.
Soccer Shots
Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s soccer program with a focus on character development. We positively impact children’s lives on and off the field through our best-in-class coaching, communication and curriculum.
Baby Zumba
Created by Zumba and BabyFirst, our program uses music and movement to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skill development for the children. It's a high-energy, non stop class that last typically anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes.
Infant Massages
Infant massage can provide the infant relief from daily stress or discomfort from constipation, trapped gas or teething. Massaging babies for up to 15 minutes a day can help to increase circulation, promote relaxation, aid the digestive and respiratory systems, and relieve muscle tension.
The practice involves a combination of relaxing strokes, light kneading, and gentle squeezing. It uses the same strokes that generations of parents all over the world have practiced, yet it becomes a rhythmic dance that is uniquely personal between the parent and baby when experienced at home from day-to-day.
Storytelling
Storytelling is a verbal and visual way to unlock a child's innate, inner creativity and allow it to flourish. This creative outpouring, in turn, helps to develop problem-solving skills, relationship skills, and an environment in which each child feels unique and important. Through story time, we notice that children build self confidence, assurance, advanced communication skills, and a stronger vocabulary. Plus, it's just plain fun! Research shows that the five most important benefits of storytelling are:
1. It boosts speaking and listening skills.
2. It encourages learning.
3. It develops creative thinking and imagination.
4. It enhances cultural understanding.
5. It creates time to bond.
Gardening
At Vinehouse Nursery, we believe that it is important for our kids to grow in so many areas. Gardening has amazing developmental benefits for children and allows them to play, learn, and grow. Mommy University states that there are 10 benefits of gardening with kids:
1. Engages all the senses
2. Encourages healthy eating
3. Enhances fine motor skills
4. Introduces kids to scientific concepts
5. Fosters family bonding
6. Teaches responsibility
7. Highlights the importance of taking care of the environment
8. Develops math skills
9. Teaches patience
10. Enhances the ability to plan and organize
Creative Arts
Children love to make art and it has many benefits to their physical, emotional, and mental well being. Creative art can help children with motor skill development, self- esteem and self- expression, and visual processing and memory. In addition, creative art is known to build skills and improve academic outcomes, gives them a voice beyond words, encourages innovation, and facilitates bonding.
Bible
The Bible program is an amazing program, but is only taught with parent consent. This program is taught using the Mother Goose Time, Experience God Preschool Curriculum. This is a Christian Curriculum with the mission to teach children about the Character of God, how He cares for them, and how He asks us to live and show His light. This Curriculum offers daily games and projects that nurture Christian values, children play as they learn how to be more like Jesus, children learn one memory verse each month, and children create Christian art projects.
Speech and Language Services
We offer speech and language services through a licensed Speech Pathologist, Cornerstone Speech & Language. Parents are welcome to have their child tested at no cost. If needed, they are able to receive services at school during school hours. Cornerstone believes that strong communication skills lay the foundation for people to effectively socialize and function in everyday life. Their clinical practices are rooted in Christian principles, which assert that success and productivity begin with a solid foundation! (1 Corinthians 3:11)
