5 Holiday Treats Your Kids Will Love

Is it just us, or did Christmas just sort of sneak up on us this year? And it seems like there’s still so much to do, with so little time! Hopefully you’ve wrapped up most of your gift shopping, but if you happen to make your way to the grocery store, we’ve got a few things you should add to your list. We’ve found some cool holiday treat ideas that are sure to win your little ones over, and would make for a fun bonding opportunity for the entire family.

  • Gingerbread House - This fun holiday activity has gotten way easier as several retailers are starting to sell kits such as this one from Target. It’s super inexpensive and something the entire family can enjoy. The kit includes everything you’ll need, all you have to do is bring your creativity...and appetite, if you decide to enjoy your holiday masterpiece. :)

  • Gingerbread Man - Just like the gingerbread house, this is a holiday classic! Check out this gingerbread cookie recipe from the Food Network, to help get you started. Then, the entire family can get their creative juices flowing, customizing their cookie man however they’d like. The only rule is that there MUST be holiday music playing in the background while all of this is happening!

  • Hot Chocolate Buffet - There’s nothing like a decadent cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter night. What’s even better is when there’s tons of other treats incorporated, that just take it to the next level. You can really make this exciting by laying out other festive ingredients like whipped cream, red and green sprinkles, candy canes, etc. Everyone can decorate their hot cocoa to their liking and enjoy their own little personal holiday in a cup!

  • Christmas Popcorn - This yummy snack is brought to you by cookingclassy.com. It’s everything you love about sweet and salty snacks with a holiday twist! All you need is some melted white chocolate, red and green M&Ms, sprinkles and peppermint extract, if you’re feeling EXTRA festive! This is also a really great snack to gift to your little one’s classmates, during the holiday season. It’s sure to be a crowd favorite!

  • Sugar Cookie Christmas Trees - This one’s pretty simple! All you need are sugar cookies, a Christmas tree cookie cutter, white frosting and assorted sprinkles, for decoration. Of course you can use store bought cookie dough, but if you prefer to make your own, check out this recipe.

We hope you take out time to enjoy making a few of these treats with your family. Happy Holidays from all of us here at Vinehouse!
